Peristiwa itu terjadi sekitar pukul 11.50 WIB atau saat acara open hous Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) di Istana Negara, Jakarta, masih berlangsung. Dari pantauan Sindonews di lapangan, asap mengepul dari mobil isuzu bernomor polisi B9769FB itu. Di mobil genset itu terdapat kertas bertuliskan logistik Istana Negara open house Lebaran 2014. Beruntung, para petugas keamanan sigap. Mereka langsung memadamkan menggunakan tabung pemadam api. "Gensetnya kepanasan," ujar salah satu petugas di lokasi. Sekitar pukul 12.00 WIB, api pun berhasil dipadamkan. Sekadar diketahui, genset tersebut disediakan untuk sejumlah kipas angin yang dipasang di tenda pengunjung kawasan Sekretariat Negara.
